Hobo International bags and wallets are very thoughtfully designed. This bag is tall and deep, so I can't really reach in with one hand to get anything. Stuff storage: there are exterior pockets; I keep my kindle in the tall one, iPhone in the small flapped one and some health/beauty stuff in the zippered one. There is one zippered pocket inside and a couple fabric slots- I keep pens, a comb and my id badge in them. Because the bag is so deep, the only thing I have loose in the main body is my (Hobo) wallet, sunglasses case and keys. The reasons why I bought this bag has worked well so far. The cross body strap isn't the most comfortable but it's essential for when I want to be hands free and not worry about keeping the strap on my shoulder. When using the cross body strap, the bag looks shorter because the top of the bag slouches or folds over. When using the shorter top handle, the bag hangs at its full height. If I kept the body of the bag crammed with a lot of random stuff, I think it would be pretty miserable to find anything in it. But having that extra tall space for my lunch, large camera, overnight things, or some work stuff when heading to meetings is pretty great. I was worried that the Bordeaux color would clash with my purple coat but it doesn't. It's a mellow wine color, not bright like it appears in some photos. One caveat- I recently sent another Hobo bag to the company for them to repair or replace. They use a rubbery substance to seal some of the leather seams, like on the handle. It dry-rotted and began shredding at the point of the handle where I hold it. There is a bit of that rubber sealant on this bag also, so I'll monitor it for wear and failure. The bags age well otherwise- I have yet to hear back from Hobo on whether the handles will be replaced or otherwise covered under the warranty. I love this bag. It was exactly what I wanted - bigger than my normal crossbody purse to carry to work, but plenty of external pockets and two strap options. I think it'll also be a really great travel bag. This pictures REALLY doesn't do it justice - go look other images up at the website - as well as the much better price here!
